Terms of use

The service and who it is for

Punkto (punkto.sk) is a web app and reference for public transport in Slovakia: timetables, lines, stops, departures, a journey planner and a map. It is for anyone travelling by public transport. These terms apply to your use of the service; if you do not agree with them, do not use it.

Price and future changes

The service is currently free and has no ads. It is a commercial project, so some features may later become paid or be supported by ads or partner links. We will announce such changes in advance on this page, and they will not apply retroactively to what you used for free.

Timetables and other data

Timetables, routes and other information come from carriers and third parties. They may be incomplete, delayed or out of date, in particular during closures and extraordinary changes, and in cities we collect from public sources. We show the validity date of a source on the pages and on the Data sources page.

The data is indicative and is not an official timetable. Check with the carrier before you travel, especially for important connections and transfers. Live departures and delays are shown only where the source provides them.

Limitation of liability

We provide the service as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or of the completeness and accuracy of the data. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for damage caused by relying on the data in the service, for example a missed connection. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, in particular for intent, gross negligence and injury to life or health. Mandatory consumer rights under the law are not affected by these terms.

Acceptable use

• Do not use automated mass downloading (scraping) or requests that load the service beyond ordinary use.
• Do not try to disrupt or overload the service, bypass its security or gain unauthorised access.
• The API is built for the Punkto app. Other use is possible by agreement with the operator.

We may restrict access if these rules are broken.

Intellectual property and licences

The service, its design, code and the dataset we compile belong to the operator, subject to the third-party licences listed on the Data sources page: in particular OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence), CARTO base maps, Esri imagery and RainViewer radar. Timetable data belongs to the carriers that publish it. Carrier names and marks belong to their owners, and Punkto is not an official app of any carrier.

Links to other sites

The service may link to third-party sites, such as carriers. We are not responsible for their content or policies.

Changes to the terms

We may change the terms. We will announce material changes on this page at least 30 days in advance, and they will not apply retroactively. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the service, and the new version then no longer concerns you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Slovak law. Disputes are decided by the competent courts under mandatory law, so a consumer keeps the rights given by the law of the country of habitual residence where those are more favourable.
